Things your Guests don't care about with your wedding

Planning your Wedding can be such a stressful time, there are certain things that you don’t want to spend time worrying about, because do you know something? Your Guests don’t care about them as much as you think they will.

Yes, these are the first impression your Guests will get of your Wedding Day. Invitations are an indication of your wedding style and theme. However, the truth is, your Guests really aren’t bothered about the thickness of paper used as long as it is beautiful. Don’t go overboard on paper choice.

Lots of information needed to be given to your Guests?

Keep your invitations simple and set up a wedding website to refer your Guests too.

ORDER OF THE DAYThings your Guests don't care about with your wedding

Again, with invitations, this stress (and cost) can be avoided. Use wooden pallets or chalkboards to let your Guests know what is happening during your Wedding Day.

Your Guests will want to send you wishes on your wedding day. This can be done in their wedding cards, but you may want to provide them with something. Guestbooks can be costly, and, they are likely to be put in a cupboard, never to be seen again.

Think about having a Polaroid or instant camera available. Guests can take photos of themselves and then write wishes to you on the photo. You would always have some props available and double this up as a Photo booth area.

Keep it simple, don’t go overboard with expensive flower arrangements. Jars with hessian filled with gypsophila can Things your Guests don't care about with your weddingcreate an amazing look.

Outdoor weddings or rustic barns already have the perfect look for “bare tables”. Use a hessian runner to create a look without the expense of tablecloths.

Your Guests are not going to know how much your dress cost, or what label is inside. Stay within your budget and there are many options available out there to get your dream dress without breaking the bank.

If the thought of having a fully choreographed first dance is stressing you out, don’t do it!

Take a bit of time “swaying” with your new Spouse before inviting your Guests onto the dancefloor to get the party started.

Things your Guests don't care about with your weddingCAKE

If you’re not sweet toothed, don’t have a traditional style wedding cake. Think about alternatives, “Cheese” cakes, Pork Pie cakes or doughnut stacks are some other great ideas.

This is a tradition that is very rarely carried out anymore. I’ve only ever done 2 weddings that have done this. If you would rather keep your bouquet or have another use for it after your wedding day, then that is up to you.

Most of the time, favours are left on the tables, not taken by Guests. Use the money that you would have spent to donate to a chosen charity. Leave a note at your Guests place setting to let them know this is what you have done.

A Photobooth can also be a good alternative to wedding favours to create a keepsake for your Guests.

One thing to remember is, it is your Wedding day, you can have it your way. Don’t have things because you think you must. Most of the time these are things that your Guests don’t care about with your Wedding. What is important is that you have your dream day shared with those people that are important to you.
