An emergency wedding kit is a must have on your wedding day. You’ve been planning your big day for months, and it’s finally here. You don’t want anything to go wrong. With an emergency wedding kit, the smallest mishaps can be dealt with without any stress.
Quite right, you will not be wanting to walk around with your emergency wedding kit, but it is a good idea to give it to your Bridesmaid to look after in case the unexpected should happen.
So what should go in this emergency wedding kit?
- Sewing kit
- Clear nail polish (For unexpected ladders in tights/stockings)
- Bottle of water/snacks
- Hair pins / Comb / Hairspray
- Lipstick and any other make up
- Ibuprofen / plasters /blister pads / mosquito repellent
- Body spray / Perfume / Deodorant
- Floss / Mints
- Female sanitary supplies
When I co-ordinate wedding days, I have my very own emergency wedding kit – well it is more of an emergency suitcase. I carry everything from the list above to hammers, torches, duct tape, you name it, it’s in there! I recently worked on a wedding where one of the Guests split her dress (Playing tug of war!) The problem was soon sorted. We went somewhere quiet and I worked my magic with my needle and thread. Even more fortunately, her dress was a light grey colour and I even had the perfect colour of cotton so it didn’t even look unsightly! Hair pins are regularly used as well. The Bride starts to feel a bit frazzled by the evening reception. My emergency wedding kit comes into operation providing endless hair pins to readjust her hair to make her look perfect for her evening guests.
