Lydia and Ben’s day saw me working with familiar faces and meeting new suppliers to add to my ever-increasing recommended suppliers list.
Lydia and Ben’s day began with interviews with the Registrars from Telford and Wrekin Council. That took place in the Bridal Cottage. After which, their ceremony happened in the Boathouse overlooking the lake at Cheswell Grange.
Following the Ceremony, Guests were led out to the lawn area to be served canapes from The Wild Gourmet. There were also a choice of prosecco, bottled beers, or orange juice served by The Wobbly Jockey.
Acoustic Duo Parallel Lines settled on the deck of the Boathouse to perform background tunes.
At around 3:15, I announced for Guests to make their way into the marquee.
Once everyone has taken their seats, I would generally announce for the Guests to be upstanding for the arrival of the new Mr. and Mrs Walley. Today, however, I had an assistant! – The beautiful flower girl, Delilah, took over the microphone and told everyone to stand up for the arrival of the new Mr. and Mrs Walley. There was no stopping her – She announced the start of the speeches, the cutting of the cake, and the first dance. An assistant for me in the making!
Following the speeches, the Guests were treated to a Buffet style Greek BBQ (Which was sensational). Part of my job for this style of food service is to coordinate each table one at a time up to the buffet station to avoid lengthy queues.
Some extra guests were arriving to celebrate Lydia and Ben’s day.
When the time was right, they cut their wedding cake (Afeter Delilah told everyone on the microphone to gather around!) before moving over to the dancefloor for their first dance – “You’re All I Need to get by” by Marvin Gaye and Tammy Tarrell.
Ben Anderson was the photographer capturing everything throughout the day.
