Lou and Nats Wedding

I had the absolute pleasure of partially planning Lou and Nat’s wedding, which took place recently. I loved every second of the journey shared with them.

Lou and Nat got in touch with me in August 2021 about their wedding. They’d booked their Venue and Entertainment and had a good idea of what they wanted for their special day. They just needed a helping hand.

Over the next few months, and a few cups of tea, I helped Lou and Nat source their Caterer, Bar, and worked out the logistics of the day.  I also gave them the confidence when they showed me their mass array of DIY items they’d gathered and made for the Venue décor.

I even went wedding dress shopping with Nat.

So let me get on and share their fantastic day with you….

The Wedding Venue and Ceremony

The Venue which Lou and Nat chose to get married was Cheswell Grange, near Newport in Shropshire.Lou and Nats Lakeside wedding

They had a small Civil Ceremony in the Boathouse with 35 Guests. Nat was escorted to the Boathouse by her Dad. She looked stunning in her dress made by Jenny from My Little Wedding Shop. (Our little shopping trip was undoubtedly a success!)

Following the Ceremony, there were readings, and a handfasting Ceremony carried out by two of Nat and Lou’s closest Friends. Part of the Band for the evening reception provided songs throughout the Ceremony and during the drinks reception.

After the Ceremonies, Guests had Canapes on the lawn provided by Hammonds Catering and Aperol Spritz or Birra Morreti, provided by The Iron Bar. At this time, Lou and Nat decided to take to the lake in the Rowing Boat provided by Cheswell Grange (For Couples getting married there only!) for some fantastic photo opportunities.

Poetry Readings

Lou and Nat wanted a relaxed, laid-back wedding day. They didn’t want speeches; instead, they had a poetry reading session, again in the Boathouse.

Friends and family chose to read poems or wrote their own to reflect their meaning of this special day while sipping prosecco. By all accounts, a few tears were shed (happy, of course!)

The Wedding Reception

Later during the afternoon, Guests were asked to move to the Marquee. Beautifully decorated by Lou and Nat, with tables and chairs provided by The Vintage Chair Hire Company. Hammonds Catering provided a beautiful buffet-style meal, followed by a sharing platter of mini desserts.

The Evening Reception

Lou and Nats Marquee WeddingMore friends joined in the celebrations during the evening. Beginning with cutting the 3 tier semi-naked cake provided by a friend of Lou’s who decorated the cake with flowers delivered by The Flowerpot (who also provided the bouquets for Lou and her Bridesmaids and buttonholes for Nat and her Ushers.)

Straight after the cake cutting, Lou and Nat took to the dancefloor and danced to No Other Love by Heart. Shortly after, the rest of the guests joined the floor to celebrate and party the night away with the sounds of the Band Blue Skies in June. When hunger struck for the Guests, there was a mammoth buffet table with a selection of food, again provided by Hammonds Catering, while the Bar was supplied by The Iron Bar.

I loved working with Lou and Nat because what started as a working relationship has ended up being friends, and I wish them all the happiness in the World.
