Wow! is all I can say about this wedding day. Last Saturday, I had the absolute pleasure of coordinating Matty and Katie’s Wedding Day at Cheswell Grange. There wasn’t any rain for the first time in weeks, and both the Couple and their Guests were so chilled. It was a truly relaxed wedding day.

Matty and Katies Wedding Day

Style and Theme

When I met with Matty and Katie for their pre-wedding meeting, it was apparent that Katie was very excited about the style and the plans she had for her wedding day. It was also clear that the style was woodland-themed, with sage green and pinks as the colour theme.

When I arrived at Cheswell Grange on Saturday, it looked amazing. Katie, her mom, and her friend did the styling and decor, and they worked hard to create the look that Katie wanted.

The Ceremony

Matty and Katie’s wedding day started with the ceremony in The Boathouse overlooking the lake at Cheswell Grange. Matty arrived in style in a friend of the Family’s Bentley. And Katie walked from the Bridal Cottage to the Boathouse with her Bridesmaids and Grandad, who walked her down the Aisle. At this point, I just wanted to mention that during the first half of the walk, Katie wore her Bridal flip flops before changing into her Wedding shoes when she walked on the grass – so as not to scratch the Red soles of her shoes – well who wouldn’t when they get to wear a pair of Christian Louboutins on their Wedding Day!

The Daytime Reception

Beautiful weather meant that the Guests could stay on the lakeside lawn sipping prosecco and eating canapes provided by The Spitting Pig (Can you guess what they had for the Wedding Breakfast!) and also while photographer, Aaron Prior captured the day on camera and Videographer, Wynne Jones shot the day on film.

A Horsebox Bar was also available for those who wanted something a bit stronger, shorter, or just a beer, provided by The Wobbly Jockey.

The drinks reception lasted about an hour and a half, and then I called the Guests to be seated in the marquee, ready for the pig roast that The Caterers served to them at the buffet table. Each table was called in turn to the buffet table (Top table first) to avoid lengthy queues. Matty and Katie organised their choice of cheesecake and chocolate brownies from Just Desserts for dessert.

Speeches followed the meal, and I can honestly say I don’t think I’ve ever heard such funny best man speeches (Even if the language was a bit harsh – I’m sure there will be lots of “bleeps” in that part of the Wedding Video!

It’s all about you….

At the evening reception, about 60 more Guests joined in the Celebrations. Matty’s Uncle set up some Casino tables in the Marquee for Guests to have a flutter on the likes of Roulette and Casino.

Trish and Chips provided the Guests with delicious Fish and Chips throughout the evening.

Matty and Katie cut their semi-naked three-tier cake, then straight into the first dance, “It’s all about you” by McFly. Then the party really got started with a live band performance from Sonic Boom and DJ sessions from The Spin Sisters. These guys really know how to keep the dance floor filled, there was crowd surfing, Guest on shoulders… the lot, and all had a good night!

Life’s a Beech, then you marry one.

In case you’re wondering why I called this blog what I have, Katie’s name was Beech, so they created the hashtag #lifesabeechthenyoumarryone which I think is absolutely fantastic.

Finally, a huge congratulations to Matty and Katie, an amazing Couple with a fantastic future ahead of them!
