Hannah and Jack’s Wedding was my latest Wedding to coordinate. And it was certainly very testing when it came to the Weather. I think apart from Snow, we had all of the elements last Saturday!
The day started with blue skies and sunshine – until it was time for the Bride to make her entrance to the Ceremony!
So, last Saturday saw me back at the beautiful lakeside setting of Cheswell Grange for Hannah and Jack’s Wedding.
They did a beautiful job of decorating the marquee, with the floral decorations on wire hexagons being suspended from the marquee created by friends and family. Petals by Sarah Louise provided the top table arrangement, bouquets and buttonholes.
The Sun didn’t have his hat on…
As with most Wedding’s at Cheswell Grange, Hannah got ready in the Cottage with her Bridal party and was due to walk down to the Boathouse where the Ceremony takes place. Unfortunately, Jupiter (Apparantly the Roman God of rain) had other ideas. Just as the interviews with the Registrar were taking place at the Cottage, it began to rain. In true Peter Kay style, the fantastic photographer for the day, Alex Ford, quoted, “it’s spitting” – sadly, just as Hannah was due to start her walk, it ended up being torrential rainfall. “I’ve got a seven-seater car. I’ll drive you to the Boathouse,” was my comment to Hannah and her Bridesmaids (Fortunately, I had just enough seats to make one journey!) Not quite the mode of transport usually chosen as a Wedding car – Limo, Hummer, Vintage classic…VW Transporter – well needs must. So today, I was the wedding coordinator and Wedding chauffeur!
Onto the Ceremony
Having got Hannah, two bridesmaids, one flower girl (And mother), and Hannah’s dad to the Ceremony on time, and not a speck of rain on them, the Wedding could begin…
And what a beautiful ceremony it was too.
Hannah walked down the aisle to All of Me; while signing the register, one of my particular favourites, This is the one by The Stone Roses began, followed by Everything has changed by Taylor Swift.
Before the wedding breakfast, Guests could mingle or test their Tiger Woods skills on the mini-golf course set up outside the Marquee.
During the afternoon reception, a special guest made a swift appearance for photos – Georgie, Hannah and Jacks Goldendoodle, who was more interested in the pate, Alex had in his pocket!
The Evening Party
After the Wedding Breakfast, Neil from U-Toons worked through the Guests and drew caricatures of them for a keepsake of the beautiful day.
The evening party kicked off with Hannah and Jack cutting the beautiful semi-naked three-tier cake, complete with a cake topper of Hannah, Jack, and not forgetting Georgie, the dog!
Straight after cutting the cake, Hannah and Jack hit the floor for their first dance, Enchanted by Taylor Swift, before the DJ played various tunes to keep Guests entertained (Even Baby Shark made an appearance for the smaller Guests!)
As well as the portraits by U-Toons, Guests could don various hats and props with the Photo Booth.
When hunger struck, the evening food was a grazing table, and fish and chips were served to guests, while those wanting something cooler could be served the delicious flavours of Ice Cream outside from Hyacinth the Ice Cream Parlour.
Happily Ever After…
What started as a stressful wedding day because of the Weather soon saw beautiful blue skies with a chilled and relaxed vibe, which is precisely what was planned for Hannah and Jack’s Wedding Day.
