Your wedding photographs should be of everlasting memories of your special day. It takes a lot of effort to find the perfect wedding photographer.
Spend money on finding the perfect wedding photographer
When looking at your wedding budget, it is advisable to spend your money wisely. You may need to budget a fair amount to find the perfect wedding photographer. Get a range of quotes, but don’t necessarily go for the cheapest. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. A Photographer with the best price isn’t always going to be the best person for the job.
Make booking your perfect wedding photographer a high priority
Good wedding photographers get booked up way in advance of people’s weddings. They will only do one wedding a day, so make booking yours one of the first jobs you do. You could always book them even before you’ve got your venue sorted. You need to have a date in mind first, though!
Think about what style of photographs you would like to have. Do you want casual, formal, or a bit of both? If you are having a wedding with a difference, find a more quirky wedding photographer.
There is no better way to find your perfect wedding photographer than from someone who has already used them for their wedding. One of my Friends got married years ago. Unfortunately, her wedding photographer was awful. When she got her photo’s to review, she was so disappointed she would never pick up the album.
Find out about the photographer –
Find out how much experience the photographer has had and how long have they been shooting weddings? Do they photograph anything else? Look at their blog and portfolios on their website. Ask to look at a full gallery of a particular wedding.
Have an engagement or pre-wedding shoot
As most photographers offer this, if this is available, then have it. A pre-wedding shoot will allow you to get to know the photographer and see if you like them and how they work.
If they are pretty bossy in how they want you to pose, do you want this on your wedding day, or do you want them to be relaxed?
What is on offer?
Find out precisely what the packages include. Are there any hidden costs that you need to know about? Do they have a “second shooter” on the day? – An Assistant who can capture those more off-the-cuff images while your main photographer is busy capturing the more formal or group shots.
